A bit of 70s soul. Love and good vibes.
I am an old soul, and there’s no denying that. I suppose that growing up in a home with my grandmother, no matter how much good music my generation produced (roughly from 1997 to 2007), it was inevitable that I would fall in love with music that predates my birth by a solid 20 years.
I absolutely adore the seventies, and I’d be terribly selfish not to share some of the songs that have put me in great moods, while inspiring some pretty good work of mine.
This month, I’ve compiled a 20 track playlist, with artists ranging from the legendary Earth, Wind, & Fire to the dearly missed and revered Phyllis Hyman.
I hope that you give it a listen, and I hope that you enjoy as much as I do.
P.S. : I truly encourage you to go and find the full version of Jermaine Jackson’s “You Need To Be Loved”. It’s track number 17 on the playlist, and unfortunately Spotify only has a heavily edited version. *Le Sigh* The track is truly magical in it’s entirety.
